Armille (braccialetti) in bronzo - S. Urbano
Foto Monistier
The presence of the Lombards, Germanic people arrived in Italy from Pannonia in 569 AC, is documented in the Vicenza province by several archaeological sites.
In the Agno and Chiampo valley burials dating from the 7th century AC were found in Montecchio Maggiore, S. Urbano, Arzignano and Castelgomberto. Among the grave goods, in men's burials we highlight the valuable inlaid belt elements and the weapons; among the grave goods in women's burials, the beautiful bracelets from S. Urbano. Decorated bone combs are found both in men’s and women’s graves.
Of particular interest are two iron gouges for woodworking from Castelgomberto.
